Here's how it works..

Step 1

Get all of your sports cards together. If anything is sealed, keep it sealed! The cards' physical condition is extremely important - please use caution!

Step 2

Prepare your cards to be shipped or picked up. Full shipping instructions in the FAQ forum (do not ship without reading!) If you are located in the Chicagoland area, your cards are eligible for pick-up.

Step 3

Before shipping or pick-up, please email a picture of your collection to matthew@nostalgxcards.com and we will respond with next steps within 24 hours.

Step 4

After your card collection is in our hands and we complete our review, an offer will be made to you. The offer will come in two forms - a cash offer & an income share agreement. The choice is yours!

Shipping & Pick-Up
Do I still need to package my items if they are being picked up?
Not to the same extent, but yes. Put all your card boxes, binders, bins, and individual cards in one place. Please do not hand off loose, raw cards. Ideally (if not in binders or factory sealed boxes), all cards are in penny sleeves and top loaders. However, if these are not available to you - neatly pack a Tupperware container or something similar.
My cards are in their original boxes or binders sitting in my attic and haven't been touched in 10 years. What should I do?
Never break factory seals on any cards or memorabilia. Group together in as-is condition. 
I do not live in Chicagoland - how should I ship my items?
Email a picture of your items to matthew@nostalgxcards.com. If we decide to move forward, please place boxes, binders, or individual cards in boxes - neatly organized. Never place raw cards in a box that will be shipped out. Put raw cards in penny sleeves, then inside of top loaders. Place them inside a t shirt or something similar. Utilize bubble wrap and cardboard. Neither of us want the cards becoming damaged in transit.
I do not live in Chicagoland and am shipping my items. Should I purchase shipping insurance?
If moving forward with shipping, we will recommend an insurance amount. As for shipping and insurance costs, we can send money prior to shipping or we can reimburse the following day.
Logistics & Payment
Will I actually sign an income share agreement if I chose the option?
If you would feel more comfortable that way, we can. This service is starting with family and friends. We are currently designing our official income share agreement.
If I choose the income share option, do I have a voice in selling my cards?
Yes - when a card or box is valued at over $1,000, there will be a consultation (via phone or email) between you and Matthew prior to making any sale (you can waive this at any time or set a new value marker such as $2,500). When cards are valued under $1,000, NostalgX cards will execute sales on your behalf without consultation. We believe this is the beauty of our platform. Kick back and collect the check!
What is the cost to me?
There is no upfront cost to you. Any costs (shipping, restoring, grading, insurance, storage, supplies, etc..) are pulled from the profit pool. Costs are temporarily covered by NostalgX Cards.
How will I be paid out?
You will be paid out monthly on the 1st of every month for any sales in the previous month. Payments made via Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, Cash App, or Cash. If choosing the cash option, payout will occur once all cards are sold.
How much will I be paid out?
The payout calculation is made after expenses. As mentioned above, NostalgX Cards temporarily covers all costs. Once NostalgX Cards is made whole, the profit is split where 80% goes to you and 20% goes to NostalgX Cards. If you would like any portions donated to charity, we can facilitate.
When does my relationship with NostalgX Cards end? 
The most important thing to understand is that individual card grading can take a very long time (up to 1 year). And although we do have bulk junk buyers, it's not possible to sell every card. Therefore, after 18 months of service, the remaining items will be shipped back to you at no cost. If you do not want the cards or wish to have remaining proceeds given to charity, please let us know.
While NostalgX is handling my cards, are my cards insured?
When it's most needed. Whenever we ship cards, they are insured. If cards are damaged or lost in our possession, we will reimburse the estimated value.
